Just got a new job, so I will be busy focusing on that. Lolguides.net will see much less activity and attention from me, luckily the site is very automated. Will of course add new champs etc when needed. Probably going to remove the type-ahead search field… does not really add much functionality and has some glitches.
Let’s hope for a great league of legends season!

Update: I’m aware that no guides from lolking.net are shown, working on a fix (they have remade some stuff)
Since the rating number is site dependent, I feel like if the guide is featured or not is the metric to sort by for the Top ratings section of each champion.
So I have made the change to display all featured guides at the top.
Oh, and Nami was added a couple of days ago - fun champion.
Yup. They have some sweet guides on there. The rating for the guides from lolking is a bit.. special, though. They have this stars system pretty much..where you can also have for example 2.5 or 4.5 “stars” (crowns actually). So all guides from lolking will be displayed with a rating from 0 - 10 where 5 is 2.5 crowns, if you follow me. I will updated the FAQ with more info on the rating information, which is different for all sites and not comparable between them.
Also fixed a bug with the Solomid guides fetching.
Just noticed thath Lolking.net has a pretty good looking guide section with guides from some well known players. Will probably add their guides! But DAMN their HTML looks like crap lol :D
Pre-season 3 patch out, played a bunch of games yesterday. Really great support changes.
Yes yes, the redesign is done. I hope it’ alright and not too broken - I like it a lot more myself. Cleaner, clearer and prettier. Think I’ll make an announcement on /r/leagueoflegends if things look and run smooth for a couple of days. I will, of course, keep a close eye on things and fix any bugs asap.

Fantastic team lineup for this event. It’s on s2 World championship level for sure. Watched all the streamed games up and including M5 vs TPA. After that one I went to bed. Checked the results this morning and wow, some big surprises in there.

Must say I was very surprised to see that Azubu Blaze was beaten by Fnatic, want to see that game badly (found it!). Also M5 getting knocked down to loser’s bracket by WE 2-0 :/
I think WE is poised to take it all although I haven’t seen a match with them yet the results look extremely impressive.
As for lolguides.net: Had to do some bugfixing in the index generation code due to the Elophant champion list fetching. Still fiddling with the redesign etc…
Did some much needed refactoring yesterday. Wanted to retrieve the champion list from Elophant, and had to shuffle some things around. Feels good.
The redesign is also underway, the layout is more or less decided. Just experimenting with colors, typography etc. The next version of lolguides is going to be much more minimalistic and clean.
Been thinking about a redesign of the site. I really dislike the ads, and they do not bring in any money really. So I will most likely scrap that, and make lolguides as clean as possible. Maybe I’ll move away frm bootstrap as well…
Oh and the new Twister Tree line 3v3 is fun, maybe a bit too snowbally? Or perhaps we’re just bad :-)

I just paid the invoice for another year of hosting for lolguides.net. To be honest I had hoped the site would pay for itself, but that’s not happening so far.
My plan is to do a redesign and more PR for the site soonish.
Hello everybody. I found some big problems with the parsing of lolpro data today. I’m not sure how long the issue has existed, but I don’t think any guides from lolpro has been listed at all for a bit. That sucks :-/
It should be fixed now however. Also reinstalled the OS on my laptop. In addition I’ve written a small script to warn me if lolguides.net hasn’t updated in a while. Going to add some more checks, so I can avoid similar stuff to the lolpro bug as well.
As a side note, I can mention that I haven’t played all that much LoL lately. Guild Wars 2 and a bit of PlanetSide 2 is keeping me busy. But I always come back to LoL - don’t worry.
ChampionSelect.net is now a part of Solomid. Thus no more links from them to Lolguides.net :-(
Sad times. I think I will keep up my links to them though, since I think the site can be quite helpful.

That was the good news, bad news is that my laptop which has been acting as lolguides update server needs a reinstall of its OS. I messed something up heh. Shouldn’t mean anything much for lolguides except taking up some time for me :-)

In other news NA regionals at PAX was pretty cool. Some new stuff like tripple TP + promote on CLG.na. While Dignitas busted out ye olde poke comp with AP nid, Gragas and Cait. TSM “just” with standard aggressive play, and taking the first place. Gz! I still think both EU and asian teams play a more fun LoL overall… very long, passive, low kill score games from NA this time around.
